Biofeedback Technology

At Action Physical Therapy, we use the latest technology available to help accurately diagnose and treat the problem. With biofeedback, you're connected to electrical sensors that help you measure and receive information about your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. The biofeedback sensors teach you how to make subtle changes in your body, such as relaxing certain muscles, to achieve the results you want, such as reducing pain or improving the quality of muscle contraction.

In essence, biofeedback gives you the power to use your thoughts to control your body, often to help with a health condition or physical performance. Biofeedback is often used as a relaxation technique and assists you with proper muscle activation during strengthening excercises.

Biofeedback helps to isolate hard to visualize muscles such as pelvic floor muscles and visually displays the muslce activity allowing the patient to improve muscle control. It is often used in conjunction with excercises, helping the patient properly use their muscles during activities.

Biofeedback appeals to people for a variety of reasons:

It's noninvasive
It may reduce or eliminate need for medications
It helps you take charge of your health
• It improves your body awareness
